FAQ

Common questions.

Can I use my existing asset tags?

Yes. Type the tag number into the item's code field. Scanning that tag brings up the item just like auto-generated ones.

What about consumables, bits, blades, fasteners?

Treat them as items with a quantity and a low-stock threshold. The digest emails admins when stock gets low.

How weather-resistant are the labels?

Standard Avery stock is fine indoors. For outdoor or dirty environments, use weatherproof polyester label stock. The QR renders identically.

Can crews share a workspace?

Yes. Invite each crew member as a Member. They all see the same tools, and the Checked out page shows who has what right now.

How do I track damage on return?

Use a 'Condition' dropdown custom field (New, Good, Fair, Broken). The activity log keeps the history alongside every check-out and check-in.

Will scratched labels still scan?

QR has error correction. They typically scan even with 15 to 30% damage. Reprint the worst ones.
