FAQ
Common questions.
Does it really work without an app?
Yes. Modern browsers expose the camera through a standard API. Works on iOS Safari and Android Chrome over HTTPS.
Will it read Code 128, not just QR?
Yes. Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, and QR are all supported.
Camera permission failed on iOS, why?
iOS requires HTTPS and a user gesture before granting camera. Tap our Start scanner button (don't just load the URL) and allow.
Does it work offline?
The page shell caches, but live lookup and quantity updates need a connection. Offline sync is on the roadmap.
Can I use a USB scanner on desktop?
Yes. USB scanners type the code like a keyboard. Focus a search field and scan.
Is there a scan limit?
No. Scanning is unmetered on all plans.
