Why QR over a barcode?

QR codes are square, encode more data, and have error correction (readable when partially damaged). They scan faster on phones.

How much data goes in the QR?

Just the item's short code. The scanner looks it up in your workspace. No personal data in the QR itself.

Can I use my own codes?

Yes. Leave it blank and we make one up, or paste in whatever you already use: an asset tag, a shop barcode, or a QR you printed years ago.

What size should I print?

1 by 2-5/8 inch (Avery 5160) works for most items. 2 by 4 inch (Avery 5163) for lockers and cabinets.

Will old codes still work?

Yes. Codes are short strings and we keep matching them as long as the workspace exists.

Can I scan retail QR codes?

Yes, as long as that code is saved on the item. You can also scan something new and turn it into an item there and then.
